Jojoba oil, pronounced ho-HO-ba, is included in the Replen’sh face cream, body scrub, body butter and facial massage oil. When applied as a facial massage oil, (six drops in the palm of one hand should be sufficient) one needs to rub the oil into the face with gentle circular pressure. Going to sleep with a clean face dressed only in this massage oil is wonderful for restoring elasticity in the skin.
The Jojoba tree is grown and harvested in Arizona, California and Mexico. It is actually a wax ester, which is extracted from the seeds of the jojoba tree. The ester is the most similar to human skin oil (sebum). It can therefore be absorbed easily into the skin and can keep a good skin balance… not too oily. It has no side-effects other than making the face too shiny if too much neat jojoba oil is applied. It provides all day moisturisation.
